Difference between char and nchar (Views: 1812)

The difference is that nchar is used to store unicode data, i.e u can store multilingual data in your database tables.Other languages have an extended set of character codes that need to be saved and this datatype allows for this extension.
Char reperesents the ascii code of the character. Fixed-length non-Unicode character data with length of n bytes. n must be a value from 1 through 8,000. Storage size is n bytes. The SQL-92 synonym for char is character.
